There are albums that due to small details don’t satisfy
fully, “Uder Pohanskeho Hnevu” is one of those albums
that could be much more effective with a better drum sound and
arrangements (sometimes they do not follow the destructive guitar
riffing). As far as I know this is the debut album of a young
Slovakian band composed by two members (Aldaron and Slavfist,
don’t ask me what instruments they play ‘cause the
booklet is completely written in their native language and besides
the promotional copy there wasn’t any other info about
this band) and playing raw and grim Black Metal with both Norwegian,
Slovakian and even Swedish metal influences (some melodic guitar
riffs). The music is simple yet effective without any major developments
to an already overcrowded metal style! What they do they do it
rightly especially if you like your Black Metal true to the elder
traditions (I mean begining of the 90’s). There are the
usual fast and destructive rhythmns which oppose to the occasional
melodic mid tempos (like on “Pohansky Boj”), high
picthed gutural vocals... all in all a underground Black Metal
release with a good guitar work however with a better drum production
Algor would have had more impact!
